Yes! There is a field box right above the "Add To Cart" button where you can type in your note. This space for your custom message has a 255-character limit, so please keep that in mind when writing your note. This note will be printed in a space on the Packing Slip for your custom message! There is NO pricing on this Packing Slip. So there is no worries about pricing information being included in the gift!
It is SO nice to be SURPRISED by a gift in the mail! But it may not be the best option. Receiving a surprise in the mail, with no note of who sent it, can cause alarm and suspicion in the recipient— the opposite of the response you were probably hoping for, right?
I have had mug recipients call me on the phone with worry in their voice. If they don't know who sent them the mug, it can be confusing and unsettling. However, if they know who it is from once they open the package, it is a happy moment to read who sent it! :D So for this reason, I highly suggest that my mugstomers take advantage of the custom note option at the bottom of the Packing Slip. (For details, read "Can you add a note to the box", above.)
If you still prefer not to add a note, that's totally okay. I will inform the recipient for you. In these cases, my addition is: "This mug was ordered for you from (name here)".
I start out with sketchbook and pencil and draw them in my sketchbook. Then, I scan the sketch (or take a picture with my phone and email it to myself) and bring it into Adobe Photoshop. From there, I create a hi-res Photoshop document and draw the art on my computer, just like you would drawing on an easel. (I use a Wacom Cintiq, which is a screen you draw on.)
If you'd like to see some speed-drawing videos of my mug art process, please visit the PRESS page and scroll all the way down.
The same way any of us get ideas, really— they just pop into my head. Sometimes, certain things come to me after having seen a specific theme in the media repeatedly. For instance, I kept seeing avocado toast pictures on Instagram. And, I happen to love avocados myself. So, some fun avocado mugs was a natural progression! Oftentimes, my mugs are my own soapbox for things I care deeply about (like grammatical errors and unicorns). :D
I am an independent artist and ALL of my mugs and products feature original designs created by ME and ONLY me. No clip art, no fonts. All original hand lettering and original illustrated designs. They are special unique gifts from me to you, that you won't find anywhere else. Celebrate originality!!
I love to hear your feedback and ideas for new mug themes, designs and sayings! I cannot promise I will execute on it, but I carefully consider each and every one. Some of my most popular mugs came about due to customer feedback, so you can be sure I take it to heart! If you'd like to share your idea for a potential mug design, please Contact me here and let me know about it. Thanks!
My excellent mug partners are Spoke Custom, located in Georgia, USA.
Once you order your mug from me, the elves at Spoke get to work on your mug printing! Your mug order is created JUST for you! :D It also ships directly to you from Spoke's headquarters in GA.
I work extremely closely with Spoke on all aspects of your order and on customer care. We are in constant communication regarding your order. I've been with them for over 5 years, and I think they're GREAT!
Regarding your order, I'm with you EVERY step of the way, and I encourage you to reach out to me with ANY questions, comments, feedback or issues of any kind. Your experience shopping and interacting with me is of the UTMOST importance and I take it— and the level and quality of customer care I provide— very seriously.
I strive for every one of my mugstomers to experience a five-star experience with me and my mugs! :D
The 11 oz. mug size is the one you see in all of the main product photos. Here is a photo that shows the physical size differential between the 11 oz. and 15 oz. mugs. (I am currently working on populating all listings with a photo featuring both sizes.)
In my mug partners' words, they use a sublimation printing process which produces a high quality image that won't scratch, peel or fade away over time.
In my own words, the art is really penetrated into the surface of your mug. but it doesn not look muted or faded. To the contrary, the colors are nice and vibrant, and the mug surface is glossy. The art can't scratch off, because it is a part of the mug. It's very cool!!
On a regular day, your mug will take between 2 to 5 days to create and package up for shipment. On a slower day during non-busy times, that'll be closer to 2. During busier times, that will be closer to 5. Each order is case-by-case depending on what production looks like on any given day, but this is the general rule.
Your mug will be ready for delivery to the carrier right after it is processed (2-5 days timeline, please see above question). If it is picked up early in the day, tracking may be available on that day. If it is picked up later in the day, tracking will not be available until the next day.
I use product mock up's to showcase my mug art! The actual mugs look exactly the same, but doing it this way keeps everything looking uniform, and also prevents me from having to keep a mug featuring every single mug design. That would be a LOT of mugs! (To read customer reviews of my mugs, please visit the Press+Reviews page.)
Any pictures you see here with hands holding mugs,, those are also product mock-ups! :D
Any pictures you see here with mugs against colored backgrounds are mock-ups I made myself! ( Pretty crafty, eh? :D )
Great question! I don't often have sales - maybe a couple of times a year!
Instead of frequent sales, I like to show my appreciation by doing mug giveaways on Instagram!
In these giveaways, the people who are eligible to enter are only those who are owners of my mugs. This is one way I can be sure to really treat my special community of mug lovers and show them my appreciation!
If you would like to learn about upcoming sales + giveaways, please sign up for my Mug Mail here!
I'm sorry but I do not revise or edit or otherwise change or customize designs that have already been registered with the U.S. Copyright Office. (Everything available in my shop has been registered, and therefore no changes are made to them.)
Regarding smaller customizations (like writing a name) in general, I do all of my work by hand and do not use fonts. this requires more time and effort than typing out a name in a font. If I was to charge for this type of work by the hour, the cost for this revision would be more than the cost of the mug. Most of my customers would not want to pay that for a mug they only want to purchase one of.
So, instead, I offer the two custom mug commission options. These give you a 100% custom design, and more bang for your buck.
The second option has either a UNIQUE design on EACH side of the mug, OR a wrap-around design. (Click here for examples of wrap-around designs.)
What is included:
The custom mug listing is for the mug design only. It does not include the cost of the mugs + shipping costs. Your mug order will be a separate transaction, once your mug design is complete.
For custom mug design orders, I offer a price break for a minimum order. I also price out the shipping cost for you, so you know the shipping cost before you purchase your mugs.
How it works:
When you order a custom mug design, we email about what your ideas are for your design. You can reference any of my current mugs, if there is a color palette you like, or a style you'd like me to emulate for your mug.
Then, I will deliver a sketch to you. At this point, you can let me know if you have any changes to the sketch. If you do, I will make the change at that time.
After that, I deliver the sketch to you for approval.
(One sketch revision is included in the custom mug commission. More sketch revisions beyond one will be charged an hourly rate.)
Once you approve the sketch, I move forward onto the final art.
I deliver the low res art to you for approval. At this point, I will ask you to let me know how many mugs and the size of mugs (11 oz. or 15 oz. or a mix).
I will get you a cost with breakdown, the discount added, and get a shipping estimate for you.
I will then Paypal you an invoice. Once you settle the invoice, I will place the order for your mugs with my mug partners!
Sure. My two custom mug commission options cost are $99 and $199. This is the cost of the design creation, and the mug order is not included in the commission price.
Custom mug designs are great for special events, girls' / ladies' trips, family reunions, retreats, weddings— the type of events when a truly custom illustration marks an event with a heartfelt keepsake to be enjoyed, remembered and reminisced over, for many years to come.
My prices reflect the fact that my custom mug designs are 100% HAND DRAWN. They take hours to do and a lot of collaboration with YOU to get right. They're a custom illustration commission.
I put in the same amount of conceptual work, effort and illustration into each one as I put into all of my mug designs, plus, I'm designing to your themes and interests, and I aim to please! I know how important a keepsake is and I have an important job. All this considered, my prices are very reasonable for a custom art commission.
I hope you enjoy and appreciate the time, effort, energy, creativity, and the laser-like focus on your own specific needs, which I put into custom mug designs!
I can ship to your P.O. Box, but I do not recommend shipping to P.O. Boxes. Many P.O. Boxes are not large enough to hold a mug box. Therefore, your mug may go missing, even though it may have been successfully delivered to the postal carrier, according to tracking. To eliminate the possibility of a missing mug and the accompanying disappointment, please consider asking a friend, family member, or asking someone you know, trust and see frequently, who has a safe, dependable address as a delivery destination for your mug.
DHL delivers to U.S. addresses. This is the least-expensive option for shipping. It is also the slowest option. From the time your order is packaged and ready to go (generally 2-4 days from your order), DHL takes about 7-10 business days to deliver.
USPS Priority Mail dependably delivers within a two- to three-day window. They provide tracking, which is accessible through the USPS.com web site. When your order ships, I will deliver your tracking number to you via email.
For international shipping, my mug partners use RR Donnelley. When your mug ships, I provide a tracking number for you that will track your mug while it is in the U.S. It is trackable at this web site:
Fed Ex Ground shipping is available in some cases. The shipping time varies once your order leaves my mug partners, but shipping typically takes about 5-8 business days. In some cases, this is a more economical than USPS Priority Mail. For larger orders, Fed Ex is usually the best option.
Fed Ex 2-Day is 2-Day shipping for your mug order. In some quantities, I offer this option. I do not recommend this option, because it is crazy expensive, and for orders of a mug or two or three, you'll probably get your mug just as quickly, and a lot less expensive, if shipped through USPS Priority Mail.
Please note the mug creation, processing and packaging timeline will not change, no matter which shipping option you choose. Timeline is 2 to 5 days from the time your mug is ordered until the time your mug is shipped.
I am VERY sorry that my mug did not live up to your expectations! That is a HUGE bummer. I take feedback and customer care very seriously, and I would love to hear your feedback on how it did not live up to what you were expecting. Please Contact me and let me know. Please know that I do not bite! I am always striving to improve, and your feedback in particular could really help me to do that! Regarding returns: because my mugs are made to order, all sales are final. If the mug is fine in every other way, perhaps you could gift it to someone as a gift!
It sounds like your mug may be a victim of faulty printing. My apologies! It is a very rare occurrence, but it has happened once or twice. I can remedy this right away. Please take a photo of your mug and email it to me, so I can solve the issue.
